Remind us never to go with Robert Pattinson to get a hair cut.

That's what his character Eric Packer heads off to do in David Cronenberg's latest, "Cosmopolis." But between his failing marriage and the plummeting stock market, Packer ends up having a no good very bad day. So bad, in fact, that one new still from the film shows him wandering around the alleys of New York City toting a gun.

The Playlist posted the new image as well as another that shows Pattinson hanging out with Kevin Durand's character in front of his heavily graffitied limo. And is that shaving cream smeared all over his face, or something worse? We aren't quite sure.

Based on what we've seen in the trailers for "Cosmopolis," these stills likely come from the end of Packers journey. He still has a pretty healthy head of hair though, so at least we know the images don't come from after the not-so-great hair cut Packer finally receives. Let's just say it's not the most flattering 'do Pattinson has ever rocked.

"Cosmopolis" made its premiere at Cannes in May, and will hit theaters on August 17. It tells the story of a Wall Street billionaire who spends the day driving around New York City in his limousine as the stock market, his fortune and society begin to crumble around him. David Cronenberg directs the film, which stars Pattinson, Sarah Gadon, Juliette Binoche, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Kevin Durand and Paul Giamatti.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
