Mystikal Completes Brief Jail Sentence

After a probation violation earned him an 81-day prison sentence, veteran rapper and previously incarcerated, Mystikal, has been released from a Louisiana penitentiary after serving 81 days.

The New Orleans native was allowed to join the free world and leave East Baton Rouge Parish Jail behind this morning (August 3), according to reports from TMZ. Mystikal had previously served a six-year term for sexual battery and extortion, and was released back in 2010 with a five-year probation.

He violated those terms with a domestic abuse battery charge back in February 2012. In May, state District Judge Tony Marabella officially sentenced him with the 81-day penalty, which factored-in a nine-day credit for time he was incarcerated after his February 22 arrest.

The "Shake Ya Ass" New Orleans rapper has a checkered history on the wrong side of the law. In 2002, he was arrested for extorting his hairstylist and forcing her to have sex with himself and two bodyguards. In 2006, he was transferred to David Wade Correctional Center for tax evasion.
