Shortly after escorting the queen to her box during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, James Bond debuted in a new teaser for his upcoming 23rd adventure, "Skyfall." It was short and sweet, leading to an incredibly "Bond" moment at the end. As a backhoe rips apart the caboose of a train, 007 lands on his feet and makes sure to fix his cuff links before proceeding.

We were also treated to our first glimpse at Javier Bardem's menacing, blond bad guy.

You can check out the full TV spot and see Bardem's character after the jump!

The entire spot wraps up in about 30 second, but it does a great job of reminding us of why Bond will always be legendary.

Then there's Bardem's character, Silva. We know next to nothing about him, other than he's blond, he blows stuff up, and he occasionally masquerades as a police officer.

Most of the plot of "Skyfall" has remained a mystery, but regardless of what we know or don't know, we're already dying to see what Bond has in store for us next.

"Skyfall" opens on November 9.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
