'Byzantium' Stills Get Bloody In Horror Bites

[url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/07/24/toronto-international-film-festival-line-up/"]We just announced the line-up for TIFF[/url] and Neil Jordan's "Byzantium" was among the many movies audiences have been anxious to set their sights on. The "Interview With a Vampire" director hints at one of his earliest films in these new stills courtesy of [url="http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/57596/new-byzantium-images-get-bit-bloody"]Dread Central[/url]. The image of a red-hooded Saoirse Ronan recalls Jordan's 1984 atmospheric take on the "Little Red Riding Hood" fairy tale, "The Company of Wolves." Apart from that, the photos feature blood and bugs. Gemma Arterton stars as a vampire trying to protect herself and her daughter (Ronan) from a mysterious society known as The Brotherhood. [b]'The Conjuring' Will Appear in Theaters Soon[/b]
Haunted farmhouse tale "The Conjuring" now has a date with moviegoers. Previously known as "The Warren Files" — and starring Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Foy, Joey King, Hayley McFarland, Joe Bishara, and Shanley Caswell — the supernatural creeper [url="http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/57627/make-date-conjuring"]opens on January 25, 2013[/url]. Taylor and Livingston play the Perrons, based on a real-life couple that was haunted by evils spirits in their Rhode Island home. Director James Wan ("Insidious," "Saw") cast Farmiga and Wilson as real-life paranormal investigators Ed (now deceased) and Lorraine Warren ("Paranormal State"). They're the longtime ghost hunting team who worked cases that became cinema sensations, like the real-life "Amityville Horror" murders in the 1970s. The film is based on the book "House of Darkness, House of Light: The True Story" by Andrea Perron. Is the real-life link spooky enough for you to give this one a shot?

[b]'The Revenant' Trailer Features Vamps and Dark Comedy [/b]
A big winner at the New York City Horror Film Festival, bloodsucker film "The Revenant" [url="http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3155709/its-finally-here-an-official-trailer-for-the-revenant/"]finally has a trailer[/url] for you to sink your teeth into. Starring David Anders ("The Vampire Diaries") and Chris Wylde ("Joe Dirt"), the film finds a deceased soldier back from the dead and searching for blood. Instead of killing at random, he decides to take out the lowlifes on the city streets and relishes in the media coverage. "The Revenant" posits itself as a funny and original flick, which is a refreshing change in our currently oversaturated climate of undead characters. Look for the film On Demand, on DVD, and as a Digital Download on September 18, and during a limited theatrical release on August 24.

[b]'Jack and Diane' Trailer Shows a Different Kind of Lesbian Werewolf Film Than Most Expected[/b]
Juno Temple, Riley Keough, Cara Seymour, and Kylie Minogue star in "Jack and Diane" — [url="http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/watch-juno-temple-riley-keough-in-trailer-for-indie-werewolf-romance-jack-and-diane-20120724"]an atypical lesbian werewolf film[/url] that tells the story of two teen girls in New York City falling fast for each other. Is that the sound of exploitation fans groaning? This one is more likely to please indie-drama enthusiasts, but looks like it could contain some interesting gore. Jack's leaving the country soon, and Diane is struggling with the news while coping with the fact that her newly awakened sexual desire is turning her into a werewolf. Magnolia is dishing up wolfy make out sessions on September 28 via On Demand, and November 2 in theaters.

[b]New NSFW Poster for 'Nurse' Outdoes the First One[/b]
When a film stars two scantily clad nurses luring unfaithful men into a deadly trap, sexytime stuff is bound to happen. "Nurse 3-D" made waves with its very naked and very bloody poster featuring "Boardwalk Empire's" Paz De La Huerta, and now [url="http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/168799-lionsgate-sends-us-a-rather-naughty-nsfw-nurse-3d-poster"]a new one-sheet[/url] has upped the ante. The NSFW poster doesn't hide a thing, which is why you should proceed with caution when viewing this one at work or in polite company. "Nurse" also stars Katrina Bowden ("Piranha 3DD"), burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese, Corbin Bleu, Boris Kodjoe ("Resident Evil: Afterlife"), and Adam Herschman ("Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay").

[b]Creepy Early Sales Art for 'Pontypool' Sequel Emerges[/b]
If you haven't seen Bruce McDonald's 2008 psychological thriller "Pontypool" — about a small town overrun by a deadly virus, based on Tony Burgess' novel
— seek it out immediately. The film's follow-up made an appearance at Canada's Fantasia International Film Festival in the form of some creepy sales art. "Pontypool Changes" will find the director behind the camera once more, with Stephen McHattie ("Watchmen," "300") as the radio DJ who copes with everyone around him turning into zombie-like creatures.
