Johnny Depp Will Star In New Wes Anderson Film

While we are used to seeing [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/16504/personmain.jhtml"]Johnny Depp[/url] and Tim Burton collaborations, this time Depp will be working with another beloved director of quirky-awesome films. Yesterday [url="http://www.deadline.com/2012/07/johnny-depp-wes-anderson-movie-starring-grand-budapest-hotel/"]Deadline reported[/url] that [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/228921/personmain.jhtml"]Wes Anderson[/url] has tapped Johnny Depp to star in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" — an upcoming project that Anderson wrote and will also be directing.

This news appears to confirm [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/07/10/wes-anderson-depp/#more-79282"]a report from last week[/url] via [url="http://twitchfilm.com/news/2012/07/breaking-wes-anderson-approaching-depp-wilson-murray-law-norton-and-more-for-untitled-new-picture.php"]Twitch[/url] that said Anderson had approached Depp — as well as a host of other big names including Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton and Jude Law — to appear in a yet-to-be-titled project. With the news of Depp's casting, it seems likely that "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is this previously name-unknown project, so here's to hoping the rest of the potential casting from that initial report comes to fruition as well.



Anderson's latest, [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/476873/moviemain.jhtml"]"Moonrise Kingdom,"[/url] arrived in theaters in May, and at the recent [url="http://www.mtv.com/specials/comic_con/"]San Diego Comic-Con[/url], the [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/07/13/comic-con-disney-panel/"]trailer screened[/url] for Depp's film [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/488474/moviemain.jhtml"]"The Lone Ranger," [/url] which is set for a July 3, 2013 release.
