He's baaaaaaaaaack. No, we're not talking about Mr. Schwarzenegger. We're talking about Jon Favreau, of course. He's making his return to Marvel for "Iron Man 3"! While he won't be directing the three-quel, he's reprising his role as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's bodyguard and side-kick.

The story line for the third film is currently being kept under wraps, so we're not certain how large his part will be. He appeared in the first film for a cameo with a more fleshed out part in the second movie—perhaps he'll be essential to the third?

Robert Downey Jr., however, did reveal the film has one hell of a script. "'Iron Man 3' is probably the best script I've read in five years, which is so funny," he said. "I mean, things have come so full circle that a genre superhero movie can actually be the most artistic bit of writing I read...To me [it] is an opportunity to go back to the kind of storytelling and character exploration that made the first one good."

Favreau may have something to do with that as he's been heavily involved in the project. In a recent interview he said he has a "tremendous connection" to the "Iron Man" franchise and his character Happy Hogan. He holds no animosity against Marvel taking on director Shane Black for the next flick. In fact, he praises Black's vision.

"It's a really smart way to go," he said. "After 'Avengers,' you want to start with something really bold and inspired, and if you've ever seen 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang,' you've seen that when Downey and Shane get together, interesting and unexpected things happen."

What do you think of Favreau's return? Do you wish he was still directing? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
