When you think about a Tenacious D music video, a few things come to mind. There will likely be some fantasy elements like in the devil in "Tribute." You could also probably bet on a sword showing up, like in the "Lord of the Rings"-inspired "Wonderboy" video.

For their latest video effort, "Rize of the Fenix," the D has thrown just about everything in the repertoire together to make the ultimate special effects video experience.

Scoop up the puddle on the floor that used to be your brain, and click after the jump to see the entire video.

For there big comeback, Tenacious D has no problem making fun of the critical and financial failure, "The Pick of Destiny." Jack Black and Kyle Gass have no problem poking fun at their own shortcoming, so the lead single of their new album is all about where they have to go next as a group in order to not disappoint the fans that have a Tenacious D tattoo.

The resulting video is an extremely meta, laugh-out-loud mash up of everything we know and love about the D. There are green screens. Jack Black's guitar turns into a sword. The critics who hated "The Pick of Destiny" turn into a hydra, which Black then slays. You know, the usual stuff for the greatest rock and roll band of all time.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
