Nicki Minaj Rolling Out 'Starships' Video After Return To Twitter

The latest video from Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album is due today. Minaj returned to Twitter on Tuesday, after taking a few days off, out of frustration and she returned just in time to announce the premiere of her "Starships" video which will debut on MTV at 7:56p.m. on Thursday.

"Starships," the lead single from Roman Reloaded peaked at #5 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart a few weeks back, and its remained on  the list for nine weeks already. We first saw photos from the video set in Hawaii a few weeks back, showing Minaj on the beach sporting a revealing, neon pink bikini with long green hair. After rolling out her "Beez in the Trap" clip with 2 Chainz, she's ready to treat fans to "Starships,' telling the U.K.'s Capital FM, "It may be too saucy for TV."

For "Beez in the Trap," which Nicki dubbed her 'hood video,' she hit the strip club with 2 Chainz.  "When I was doing my mixtapes, I would perform in strip clubs, I would perform in clubs and it was just like some of my most die-hard fans would be in these places," Nicki told MTV News. "I wanted to kinda like honor them — kinda honor all my girls in the club and just say thank you for the support."

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
