Spencer & Hill is currently one of the highest acclaimed dance-electro projects within the international club scene.
The impressive amount of national and international dance chart toppers like e.g. “Housebeat“,“Right On Time“ and “Cool“, within the last decade makes them part of the elite of electro-dance producers worldwide.
Lately, Spencer & Hill proved their incomparable sense for sound and trend setting abilities by e.g. “Yeah Yeah Yeah”, which shot straight to Top 1 on Beatport and into the Top Ten of the most important European Dance Charts.
With their recent signings of tracks like “Dance” at Steve Aoki’s “DIM MAK” and “Beatrocka” at Afrojack’s “Wall Recordings”, they proved once again their affinity to the Top 10 Electro acts.
Starting in 2005 they began producing several successful remixes for highly demanded acts such as Moby, Paul van Dyk, Tiga, Taio Cruz, Röyksopp, Afrojack, DJ Tiesto, Yello, Sugababes, Chris Lake, Eric Morillo, P.Diddy, Cosmic Gate, Above & Beyond a.m.m. Honoured by national and international awards such as Dance Act of the year (by DDC in 2009) Spencer & Hill increasingly focused on their own tracks.
Due to their unique sound, most of the Spencer & Hill releases became massive club tunes that head the national and international DJ playlists in an impressive way.
As artists and producers, Spencer & Hill produce music that rocks the coolest clubs, festivals and yet proudly head radio hit-lists and international charts. They succeeded in both being credible, authentic electro DJs but also being mainstream, having huge crossover success. Their long-awaited debut album “Housebeats Made in Germany” was successfully released in 2010 and hit the Itunes Top 5 in several territories.
New collaborations with huge international acts are already in progress, so in the future we can expect a lot more Housebeats made in Germany!

CYBEROPTICS

A young producer taking the dubstep world by storm, at age 19 Alex Epps aka Cyberoptics first made his big smash into the scene with his release "Geisha" on PLAY ME Records. Released in May of 2010, Geisha climbed to number 1 on Beatport.com and held it's place in the top 5 for over a month, battling producers such as Borgore and Doctor P.

Hailing from Memphis TN, Cyberoptics is greatly influenced by the dirty south but also the wide varietys of electronic music aswell. With a unique style of different themes, deep sludge bass and heavy sub, it's almost impossible not to move your body to these alien sounding bass tones!

'Cyberoptics' 2nd release from Play Me Records "The Tie Fighter EP" exploded onto the Beatport top 20 with songs "Pimpin" hitting #3 "Geisha VIP" right behind at #4 and "Tie Fighter" and "Toasty" topping out at 14 and
17. Cyber's unique style is constantly changing, Expanding and evolving more with every song and spark of inspiration.

Currently Cyberoptics is hard at work on a full length album, touring with Play Me heroes Reid Speed & FS, and working closely with other producers such as Liquid Stranger, D-Jahsta, Adroa, Numbernin6 and Current Value.

In spare time, Cyber has a side-project known as "Embryon" consisting of himself and close friend Jordan Bolin, under which he produces a more ambient sound.

The four person Bay Area production force known as Helicopter Showdown has earned the reputation in the underground bass music culture as “Wu Tang” of Dubstep. These West coast bass monsters have been turning heads and crashing parties worldwide with their unique blend of heavy dubstep and melodic electro house. Having dominated the Bay Area bass music scene over the past year, HS has been called out of their homeland to perform and curate events all over the country in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Denver, Philadelphia, Seattle, Houston, Detroit, and Las Vegas to name a few. Supported by such highly respected artists as Rusko, Borgore, Mt. Eden, Calvertron, Skism, Downlink, and Reid Speed amongst others, their music is quickly being recognized everywhere from the most distinguished UK dubstep pioneers to the smaller pockets of bassheads in middle USA.

In the last year, after teaming up with close friend, collaborator, and UltraGore label mate/owner Sluggo, the HS crew smashed their way onto the Beatport charts with their debut release “The Wrestler” [Ultragore], followed by “Hostages” [Ultragore] and most recently “Holy Ghost” [Play Me] feat. MC Messinian. Recently HS has become even more of a household name in the Beatport Dubstep charts, planting themselves firm within the top 20 with their latest release “Drop It Again” with Calvertron off the “Flight or Fight EP” [Play Me]. They are currently finishing up their next Ultragore EP with Sluggo featuring the fresh vocal talents of Bryan Dallas and Young Aunde, and have a laundry list of collaborations in store that will make 2012 a marquee year for them.

Helicopter Showdown also stands out from the rest of the bass community due in part to their reputation for holding their fans in the highest regard, proving their love through their consistent efforts to give away FREE music; with highly acclaimed releases “Gucci Gucci (Helicopter Showdown & IB Remix)” [US Dubstep], “Waiting” with BoyKidCloud [Squitty Bubbler], “Dramatron” [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular 2011], “Beat Down” [Squitty Bubbler Most Popular January 2011] and the classic “Whistle Tips” with Point.blank [Dubsaw/Squitty Bubbler Most Popular October 2010] all given gratis to their hungry fanbase. HS even takes it one step farther, giving away free downloads of their signature sounds and production templates.

With their dedication to production, their fans, and taking their four person team onto the stage and turning any given party into a full blown event, keep a close eye on Helicopter Showdown as they bring the party from the West Coast underground to a city near you.

Whether deck or dinner plate, Jesse Tittsworth’s insatiable hunger questionably devours whatever is put in front of him. His food preferences veer past strange: his favorite meal is live octopus. His appetite was just as fierce in 2004, when the Chinese-American carnivore from Washington D.C. almost immediately leap-frogged from local favorite to international DJ headliner.

Once established as a DJ, Tittsworth immediately began to dig into his next course as a producer. With his remixes on Radio One and in influential Top 10 lists, soon the growl for original material couldn’t be ignored; in 2008 his debut album 12 Steps on Plant Music was released to critical acclaim by Billboard, DJ Mag, and URB. More original material is bubbling for 2012, beginning with the release of the 2 Strokes Raw EP (Plant Music).

Tittsworth as musician is one type of meat, Tittsworth as entrepreneur is another. In 2006 Tittsworth established his own label with DJ Ayres: T&A Records. In 2010 he became a co-owner of U Street Music Hall, a world-class night club with an ever-present line for sold-out shows. 2011 offered a new signature dish: the launch of Tittsworth.com, a first-look lifestyle site featuring music and the macabre.

DARA

DJ Dara is probably New York’s leading exponent of drum’n'bass and is considered one of the best drum’n'bass DJ in the USA, but his presence is felt internationally. Dara has a keen ear for the classic style of clean drum’n'bass and he uses it to create dark and beautiful melodies with hints of color from deep bass grooves with seamless transitions. Not content with spinning on his own, Dara is also one of the core members in the all star D’n’B super alliance known as Planet of the Drums.

With 9 full lengths to his name, Dara comes packed with a full arsenal of great material to blow audiences away live. Simply put, he’s a must see for anyone who considers themselve’s a fan of drum’n’bass.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
