Headliners: Gucci Mane and DJ Holiday

Representing: Atlanta

Mixtape: Trap Back

Real Spit: Gucci Mane is on top of his game and while fans are getting set for Super Bowl XLVI, the Atlanta MC will drop his Trap Back mixtape at 10:17 a.m. on Sunday on DatPiff.

“We finna take y’all on a tour, on a journey through East Atlanta, the ups and downs with ya boy Gucci Mane,” the rapper told Mixtape Daily.

Trap Back which is hosted by ATL’s DJ Holiday promises to be a return to the kinetic street anthems which made Gucci one of the game’s top talents. On “Quiet” Gooch silences the critics with his success. “Way I’m beatin’ up that white girl that’s domestic violence/ And my money talks for me ‘cause I be bein’ quiet,” he spits bragging about his hustle ethic.

The tape’s “Intro” is a stand-out as well. On it Gucci Mane chronicles his rise from the block to rap’s spotlight. “When I first started back in 1995/ I wasn’t movin’ keys I was buyin’ 1.5/ I started comin’ up junkies recognized my face/ Paid a quarter million dollars just to beat a murder case,” he rhymes.

The championship game between between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants may be the biggest game of the year, but with Trap Back it’s clear that on this Super Bowl Sunday Gucci Mane won’t be playing around.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
