Not only is Rick Ross amongst rap’s elite, he’s also proven to be one of hip-hop’s biggest fans. In previous interviews he has gushed over the past works of Dr. Dre, Jay-Z and the Beastie Boys just to name a few, but Rozay’s hip-hop jones isn’t just limited to the veterans. Ross has proven to be a fan of the brand new guys as well, just ask Meek Mill or Stalley. So when it comes to Rochester, New York MC Emilio Rojas, Rozay gives the up and comer his props. “Dope MC, I’m a fan,” he told “RapFix Live” host Sway while out in Miami shooting a video last weekend.

Co-signs are sweet, but record deals are sweeter. Does Rozay’s admiration for the Breaking Point spitter mean that there is a possible deal with MMG in the works? “I’mma keep it all the way 100, that’s what double M-G; that’s what we’re here for. We’re gonna be very selective about who we bring into the circle and who remains in the circle,” he said. “It’s just about the highest grade of quality and that’s what we we’re about. If I’m a fan of your music, it’s always a possibility and I’m a fan of Emilio.”

Rojas broke down to RapFix how he and the Bawse got to talking. It all started when Rozay’s DJ Sam Sneaker hit Emilio on Twitter with a direct message saying that the Boss wanted to speak with him.“I was like, ‘Whatever.’ I thought it was a joke,” he said. “I just didn’t take it—it felt like a joke because that stuff doesn’t happen to us. We always had to fight for that stuff.”

As far as whether or not a MMG deal will manifest, Emilio says that fans will have to “stay tuned.”

Another MC that has is rumored to be linking up with Maybach is California rapper Dom Kennedy. Like a true boss Rozay wouldn’t confirm what the two may have planned, but showered him with praise all the same. “I feel like that’s one of the west coast’s finest. Shout-out to Dom, that’s my homey for real,” he said.

Should Rick Ross add Emilio Rojas and Dom Kennedy to his Maybach Music Group roster? Tell us in the comments!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
