Will Rick Ross Sign Emilio Rojas To MMG?

Rick Ross sure knows how to pick ’em. After recruiting the likes of Meek Mill and Wale to his Maybach Music Group, the Bawse has developed a rep for snatching up top notch rap talent. Late last year Rozay reached out to up and comer Emilio Rojas just to say that he was a fan. So does that mean the Rochester, New York MC will sign with Maybach? Maybe, maybe not.

“Ross and the MMG camp have been showing a lot of love,” Rojas told RapFix. “Everybody over there from Spiff to [DJ] Sam [Sneaker] to Ross to Gucci, everybody has just been super cool. Ross has reached out and said he was a fan of my music. As far as the rumors people are just gonna have to stay tuned.”

It all started when Rozay’s DJ Sam Sneaker hit Emilio on Twitter with a direct message saying that the Bawse wanted to speak with him.“I was like, ‘Whatever.’ I thought it was a joke,” he said. “I just didn’t take it—it felt like a joke because that stuff doesn’t happen to us. We always had to fight for that stuff.”

An hour later the up and coming MC’s phone rang. “I stepped outside and I got the call. Ross is a super cool cat,” Emilio recalled. “He reached out, he told me he liked my music, he quoted a few bars from “Life Without Shame,” the actual title track off the last mixtape. That was cool yo.”

Rojas says that it was his Needlz-produced track “Right to Stay” which first caught the MMG CEO’s ear. Emilio credits Ross for gravitating to the lyrically dense song. “It shows you where his head’s at, he’s a music head. He’s a hip-hop head. Tha
