The week is drawing to a close, but MTV Movie Brawl 2012 round one rages on through the weekend! Voting doesn't close until 12:00 PM EST on Sunday (January 8), so there's still time to get your favorite movies into next week's March Madness-style bracket.

Today, we're closing out our preview of brawlers with a look at an agent with a license to kill, the fairest maiden of them all, and vampires who sparkle in the sunlight.

With "Prometheus," Ridley Scott returns to the science fiction genre he helped define, and potentially to the universe he established in "Alien." It's an exciting move for sci-fi fans on paper, and the recently released trailer only heightens our anticipation. Speaking personally, "Prometheus" is far and away the movie I'm most excited for in 2012. If you love me, you'll vote for this. -Josh Wigler

Everything we know about “Rock Of Ages” tells us that we’re going to have a campy good time come June 1 when it opens in theaters. The movie musical is a rock operatic love story based on the Tony award-nominated play of the same name, that features a very star-studded cast belting out the "arena rock" stylings of popular '80s artists like Journey, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Styx and REO Speedwagon. Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Julianne Hough and Malin Ackerman all star. And sing! -Kara Warner

After a strong start in "Casino Royale," Daniel Craig's Bond hit a critical snag with "Quantum of Solace." The fix? Add Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes to the mix. Casting Javier Bardem as the villain and Ralph Fiennes as an unknown government employee certainly doesn't hurt either. We only know one small detail of the plot, but a dark secret from M's past sounds like classic 007 to us. Could this be Bond's return to the top? -Kevin P. Sullivan

This one's noteworthy for several reasons. It is the first of two Snow White-themed films coming down the pike this year, it features "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart as a very different type of fairy tale princess alongside Huntsman Chris Hemsworth and Evil Queen Charlize Theron. In this action movie-esque version, Stewart showcases sword-wielding skills and warrior-like tendencies which we imagine will be useful in the inevitable showdown between Snow, Huntsman and Queen. "SWATH," as it's been commonly referred to on the Internet, opens June 1. -KW

"Taken 2"
In "Taken," Liam Neeson showed off a very particular set of skills and made a surprise hit out of it and a new career as a middle-aged action star. For the second go around, Rade Serbedzija plays the father of one of the "Taken" kidnappers, who sets his sights on Neeson's Bryan Mills, and takes the former CIA operative hostage. -KPS

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2"
This fall the sound of millions of women screaming will slowly fade away as the vampire romance phenomenon comes to a close. The first part of the story saw the birth of young Renesmee and Bella's transformation into a vampire. Now the family Cullen must protect the child from outside forces that would threaten it. "Wrath of the Titans"
They already released the Kraken. Now what? Perseus and the gods are back for more, and this time it's the Titans turn to destroy ancient Greek towns. Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes all return to reprise their roles from the first film, but one other element is making a less welcome return: post-converted 3D. -KPS

"Woman in Black"
Dan Radcliffe will make his first post-"Potter" appearance in the adaptation of the classic Victorian ghost story, and it's quite the mature role! He plays a father and recent widower who travels to a house haunted by the mysterious woman of the title. HP fans should be clamoring to see what's next from their leading man and if the star can make the jump to adulthood at the movies. -KPS

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
