(Ronald Deaver accused of assault)

By Shakira Atitebi

In extremely strange news to kick off the year: A dispute that began over the status of Beyonce and Jay Z's relationship eventually resulted in one man being stabbed outside of an apartment building in Cleveland, Ohio on New Year's Eve. According to Fox News, one hour before the ball dropped on December 31, 31-year-old Ronald Deaver was stabbed by a 48-year-old man from Cleveland’s Garfield Heights neighborhood following an argument prompted by a music video.

Detective Marty Compton of the Parma Police Department told Fox that Ronald Deaver was detained and charged with felonious assault for the attack. Compton said the brawl began because the victim did not know that Beyonce and Jay-Z were married. Police were summoned after the incident and the wounded man was taken to a nearby hospital. The victim was later relocated to MetroHealth Medical Center where he is now listed in good condition.

Authorities tried to contact Deaver at his residence, but Jennifer Fornari, 31, told officers that he no longer lived there. Deaver was nabbed by police a short time later and Fornari was arrested on charges of obstructing justice.

So, we're guessing it's safe to say he didn't know that Beyonce was pregnant then?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
