Whenever Kanye West is in the mood to tweet, it’s reasonable to expect interesting tidbits from his random streams of thought. This week he announced that he was sketching the design for his new Air Yeezy 3s, while on a plane trying to ignore the meal options. Then he decided that he wanted to get behind the turntables on New Year's Eve. “I kinda wanna DJ somewhere this New Years,” Ye began, slipping off onto a tangent--“I don't want to see any movie that doesn't have mind blowing special effects”--before announcing his new DJ name.

“My New Years DJ name is gone be YEEZY WORLD PEACE! If you book me you have to put YEEZY WORLD PEACE on the E-vite,” he wrote. “Or I ain't spinning.” And what would be in the rider for his new DJ alias? “Ima need a stealth bomber and 2 bottled waters #YEEZYWORLDPEACE'SRIDER”

Yeezy most recently displayed his DJ skills at a Christmas Day bash, spinning records at London’s Le Baron nightclub. Party goers reported that the rapper/producer treated them to beats from his next solo album, in addition to tracks from the anticipated G.O.O.D. Music compilation, which is due out this Spring.

Ye is reportedly settling in London to work on his new fashion and line and finish up the album. Backstage at the Cali Christmas concert, Big Sean told MTV News that the album was almost complete. "So, me, Kanye, Cudi, CyHi, John Legend, Common, Pusha T, everybody on G.O.O.D., Mr Hudson: We're all working on the new project; it's almost done,” Sean said, addressing the status of the group album. “We're going to London to finish it up and do the last part of it and working on my album at the same time with 'Ye and everybody."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
