It's been a hard road so far for "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," the live-action adaptation of the classic television show, but it may have found a new director. After George Clooney walked away from the film and director Steven Soderbergh, it's had a hard time holding onto anyone. Bradley Cooper left shortly after joining the film, and Soderbergh departed shortly afterward.

Now Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. has brought on the director of "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," its big holiday relase, Guy Ritchie as a producer and probable director of the film.

Check out the rest of today's film news after the jump!

Keanu Reeves Is A Real Gentleman
Reeves seems to have earned the most attention in recent years for doing the most mundane things. First a picture of him eating a sandwich takes the internet by storm, and now a secretly filmed cellphone video of Reeves on the subway has everyone talking. In the video, Reeves gives up his seat to a standing woman while riding the Q train to Brooklyn. He knows kung-fu and manners.

"Man or Muppet" from "The Muppets" Gets the Music Video Treatment
It was the song that stole the show, and now it's the music video of the week. Jason Segel's self reflection, the Bret McKenzie-penned "Man or Muppet" is arguably the best song from "The Muppets" and one of its biggest surprises. If you haven't heard the song before, you haven't seen the movie, which means you shouldn't be reading this. Go see it now! Otherwise, enjoy revisiting the instant classic.

"The Descent" Director Neil Marshall to Helm "Hellfest"
The British horror director has picked his next project, /Film is reporting. The plot description gives the sense that this one's a fairly straight forward scary movie, but anyone familiar with the director should expect an extra twist or two. The movie will center around a serial killer stalking an amusement park at Halloween.

Harrison Ford Top Pick for Jackie Robinson Biopic
Legendary Pictures have set their sights on a number of great actors, but Harrison Ford is their most recent pick to play Branch Rickey, the Dodgers executive responsible for signing Jackie Robinson and breaking baseball's color barrier. Other candidates included Robert Redford and Jack Nicholson.

More Sneak Previews Scheduled for "We Bought a Zoo"

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
