"Prometheus" fans, today's your lucky day: at long last, here's your first look at actual characters from Ridley Scott's glorious return to the sci-fi scene!

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features several new photos from "Prometheus," including one that's made its way online. The image, which you can see above, centers on three of the main characters from Scott's loosely connected "Alien" movie, played by actors Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Logan Marshall-Green.

Rapace and Fassbender are increasingly known quantities these days, what with "Sherlock Holmes 2" on the cusp of release and Fassbender making headlines with his NC-17 drama "Shame." Marshall-Green, however, is a lesser known figure: he's currently most famous for M. Night Shyamalan's "Devil" and for getting shot to bits by Mischa Barton on "The O.C." Something tells me that "Prometheus" is going to up his pedigree significantly.

Beyond seeing these actors in action for the first time, the new "Prometheus" image contains one hell of a head-scratcher… more specifically, what the what is with that gigantic head in the background? Does it have something to do with the fabled Space Jockey? Is it an entirely new element in the "Alien" universe? Do we really want to know the answer before "Prometheus" hits?

Other photos from EW's "Prometheus" feature are floating about the web, albeit in poorly scanned form. You can hunt them down for yourself, or you can pick up the new issue of EW to dive into that world even more.

Tell us what you think of the new "Prometheus" photo in the comments section and on Twitter!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
