Minaj will release sophomore album 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Early on Tuesday (November 22) the big news was that Nicki Minaj would drop her sophomore album in early 2012, but just a few hours later the Young Money rapper took to Twitter to spill all of the details. A few weeks ago she hinted that her alter ego Roman Zolanksi would play a bigger role in this album, and she wasn’t kidding. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is the album’s title and the release date is Valentine’s Day, February 14 (that part isn't surprising.)

“U know what??? There's been a change of plans barbz,” Nicki wrote on Tuesday night. “I'm announcing the name and date today. How do I get on ustream??? Its only right to announce it on the anniversary of Pink Friday right barbz???” When UStream didn’t work out, Nicki resolved to posting the info on Twitter.

Before Nicki’s update, Birdman had already promised that the album would arrive in a few months, confirming that Nicki was already hard at work in the studio. She teased her plans to make a Roman-themed album a few weeks ago in a blog post that was later removed. “Roman will be in rare form this time. You know why? Cuz he no longer gives a f---," she wrote. "He has two more weeks in boarding school. We're going to pick him up now. When he lands, he will address the nation in the form of music. He will also announce the date."

(Nicki Minaj wants a 'Roman' vibe on her next album)

Minaj has said that she’s trying to go light on features this time around, but we wouldn't be surprised by a curve ball like Taylor Swift. When Nicki picked up two awards this past Sunday night for Best Rap/Hip-Hop artist and Best Rap/Hip-Hop album at the American Music Awards, she added a quick thanks, to “Taylor Swift, wherever you are.” (Swift was in the crowd rapping “Super Bass” back to her earlier in the show).

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
