The Bluth family's master plan to reclaim the public spotlight has moved several steps forward in recent months, with perhaps the biggest move of them all made over the weekend: new episodes of "Arrested Development" are officially coming to Netflix.

Deadline reports that Netflix has outbid prominent pay cable networks to attain the rights to the upcoming new season of "Arrested Development," a series of episodes that will reportedly pave the way for a big-screen comeback. The exact number of episodes remains undetermined, and it's said that specific episodes will be designated to specific characters. (Please, someone get me that Tobias Funke episode ASAP!)

"Everyone, ourselves included, seems to feel like the Bluths left the party a bit too soon,” said "Arrested Development" co-producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard in a statement. “Bringing a series back from cancellation almost never happens, but then, 'Arrested' always was about as unconventional as they get, so it seems totally appropriate that this show that broke the mold is smashing it to pieces once again."

Though no deals have been signed between 20th Century Fox TV and the former "Arrested Development" cast, it's said that everybody from Jason Bateman to Michael Cera have expressed their interest in the comeback. In other words, stop looking so blue: the Bluths are almost back!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
