Hollywood actors, better start practicing your best moon walk and memorizing the "Thriller" dance.

Showblitz is reporting that Michael Jackson's estate is shopping the idea for a biopic for the late pop star around Hollywood. Apparently Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's production company has been approached about potentially producing the project. Apparently the pic would only cover certain periods of Jackson's life (read: some Neverland controversies may never be told). Now it's time for the speculation for who should play the King of Pop to begin!

First Photos Of "Imogene" Hit The Web
Kristen Wiig has long been working on her passion project, the dark comedy "Imogene." At long last, the first images of the film have finally hit the web. ComingSoon.net (via First Showing) has the photos, which includes a peek at Wiig, Annette Benning, Matt Dillon and Darren Criss. The film follows Wiig as a New York playwright who fakes her death to get the attention of her ex-boyfriend (Dillon). Instead, she ends up being forced to move in with her gambling-addicted mother (Benning).

Steven Spielberg Eying "Gods And Kings"
After tackling animation, the story of Abraham Lincoln and a hit Broadway play, Steven Spielberg is now contemplating adapting the story of Moses. Twitch has learned that Spielberg and Warner Bros have entered into formal talks for him to direct their film "Gods and Kings." It will take an epic look at full life story of biblical figure, Moses. Chances are the film would start filming in early 2013, if Spielberg officially signs on to it.

Bill Nighy For "I, Frankenstein" Villain?
Stuart Beattie's modern-day take on Mary Shelley's classic horror novel "Frankenstein" might be gaining a pretty prestigious villain. Variety is reporting that Bill Nighy is in talks to play "I, Frankenstein's" baddie, a demon prince, while Australian actor Socratis Otto has been brought on to star as one of the prince's evil henchmen. Aaron Eckhart stars as Adam, Dr. Frankenstein's monster who is being hunted by demons so they can learn the secret of his creation and create their own army of reanimated corpses.

David Fincher's "Cleopatra" Gets A Screenwriter
It's taken very long to get a Cleopatra biopic to the big screen, but it seems like David Fincher's attempt is making good headway. Variety reports that screenwriter Eric Roth has entered discussions to draft the script for the adaptation of Stacy Schiff's biography "Cleopatra: A Life." Roth is best known as the writer for "A Curious Case of Benjamin Button" (which was directed by Fincher) and this Christmas's "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close."

First Images From "Butter" Hit The Web
So what if Jim Field Smith's "Butter" only got meh reviews when it premiered at Telluride earlier this year? The political satire, which features Jennifer Garner as a Sarah Palin-esque public figure competing a bit too intensely in Iowa's annual butter-sculpting competition, has plenty of aspects for fans to get excited for, including (but not limited to) a sex scene between Olivia Wilde and "Twilight's" Ashley Greene. /Film has a whole bunch of new pictures from the film, and says we can expect a trailer (finally) in another month or two. "Butter" hits theaters on March 26, 2012.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
