"The Dark Knight Rises" is taking Manhattan by storm, with its two-week New York City shoot well underway at this point. So far we've seen bad guys on bikes, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Gotham police officer John Blake on the city streets, an increasingly familiar aircraft and one extremely unusual object that may or may not be a bomb. Check out all of the details in our "Dark Knight Rises" report, but be warned, spoilers lie that way.

That seems like an understatement, doesn't it? But when we spoke with "Wolverine" director James Mangold about his plans for the character's second big-screen solo outing, "intense" was the constant word of choice. If you were hoping to see Tony Stark's ring-clad nemesis, The Mandarin, finally arrive on screen in the upcoming third "Iron Man" movie, get ready for some disappointment. Director Shane Black recently spoke out against the character, describing him as "a racist caricature." If not Mandarin, who would you want to see as the "Iron Man 3" villain?

Curt Connors isn't a truly bad guy, just deeply misguided. That's the opinion of actor Rhys Ifans, at least, who told MTV News during a recent interview supporting "Anonymous" that his "Amazing Spider-Man" villain isn't a villain in the conventional sense. Get all of his thoughts in the video below.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
