'Paranormal Activity 4' Is All But Guaranteed

[url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/10/24/paranormal-activity-3-box-office/"]"Paranormal Activity 3" rocked the box office[/url] last weekend, and it looks like next October we may be able to find out what happened to Katie and Hunter — a fourth installment in the supernatural chiller is possibly heading our way. (Duh!)

With record-breaking numbers like "PA3's" it's no shocker that Paramount's Don Harris told [url="http://www.thewrap.com/movies/column-post/paramount-exec-i-cant-imagine-we-wouldnt-make-paranormal-4-32085"]The Wrap[/url], "I can't imagine that we wouldn't make a number four, and I imagine [Paramount Film Group president] Adam Goodman this morning is thinking about the challenge. I'm sure he's thinking, 'Now what do I do?'" Where do you think they'll take the storyline from here?

[b]Scorsese is Back in the Horror Game with 'The Snowman'[/b]
The legendary Martin Scorsese dabbled with a little bit of horror when he made last year's "Shutter Island." Now, he's looking toward Norway for some serial crime action with [url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118045118"]a possible adaptation of "The Snowman."[/url] Jo Nesbo's best-selling novel has attracted the attention of the "Goodfellas" maestro, who has always had an eye on the literary world for inspiration. While Scorsese currently closes the book on Paramount's "Hugo," he's circling the Norwegian novel for a possible re-telling. The story — which "World War Z" scribe Matthew Michael Carnahan is in talks to adapt — takes place in Oslo and concerns a missing woman. The only trace of her left behind is a pink scarf, which has been wrapped around an "ominous-looking" snowman — and may be the work of a serial killer.

[b]"Black Swan" Team to Create an Online Stalker Flick[/b]
"Black Swan" writer Mark Heyman just sold his Facebook stalking film to Lionsgate, which boasts director Darren Aronofsky in a producer's capacity. (We guess "Black Swan" likes to keep it in the family.) The script for "XOXO" follows an executive on the rise who spends his free time flirting online. Of course, he ends up courting the wrong woman and things get ugly. As [url="http://www.fangoria.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5914:qblack-swanq-writer-signs-new-script-qxoxoq&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=167"]Fangoria[/url] points out, the similarities between "Fatal Attraction" and "XOXO" seem obvious — so what's really going to separate this movie from every other 1990's Michael Douglas movie we've ever seen? Are you curious?

[b]"True Blood" and "Crank" Star Take "Flight 7500"[/b]
"The Butterfly Effect's" Amy Smart and "True Blood's" Ryan Kwaten are currently in talks to [url="http://collider.com/ryan-kwanten-amy-smart-flight-7500-dylan-mcdermott-dog-fight/122732/"]take a trip on "Flight 7500."[/url] "The Grudge" director Takashi Shimizu will direct the CBS Films' feature that takes place " … on a transpacific airliner from Los Angeles to Tokyo where the passengers encounter what seems to be a supernatural force." Smart would play a passenger trapped amongst the mysterious forces. No word yet on Kwanten's part, but we assume he'll be shirtless for at least a tiny part of the horror-thriller.

[b]Teen Creeper Story Features "Saw" Actor/Writer[/b]
"Saw" and "Insidious" writer/actor Leigh Whannell is joining Caitriona Balfe ("Super 8") for [url="http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/48288/leigh-whannell-has-deadly-crush"]"Crush," which starts shooting this week in L.A[/url]. The love-obsession story, which is written by the folks who brought us "The Roommate," stars "X-Men: First Class'" Lucas Till as an athlete who has a secret admirer — or should we say stalker. Whannell and Balfe are playing local business owners. Isn't this kind of like "Swimfan"? Will you be lurking all over this one?

[b]Fight for Your Life on "Grim Night"[/b]
Universal Pictures just picked up the rights to [url="http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/26926"]"Grim Night" — a new "holiday" film[/url] that blends the supernatural and apocalyptic panic. "The Strangers" producer Bryan Bertino is behind the tale and a new teaser video, which shows that 90,000 people have died during Grim Night. That's the single night every year when creepy Grim Reapers scour the earth for souls to drag back to hell. Happy, no? Check out the promo clip, and let us know what you think.

[b]Rob Zombie's "Lords of Salem" Gets a New Poster[/b]
We started to get more excited about Rob Zombie's "The Lords of Salem" when the cast announcements became more awesome by the day. Horror vets and other familiar faces like Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Davidson, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, and Barbara Crampton will be starring in his upcoming witchy flick. Some new artwork has popped up that features some pretty wicked text spouting "Heretic," "Witch," and "Devil." "Lords of Salem" surrounds a DJ crew who head to Salem once a mysterious package arrives on their doorstep. When they arrive, all hell breaks loose in the Halloween city.
