'Game Of Thrones' Actor Considered For 'Arthur & Lancelot'

The "Game of Thrones" and "The Killing" stars have reportedly tested for Warner Bros' King Arthur project "Arthur & Lancelot," [url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/arthur-lancelot-game-of-thrones-the-killing-251966"]The Hollywood Reporter[/url] has learned. It's unclear whether the TV stars tested for one or both of the roles. THR says that the two are now the frontrunners for the roles. "Wedding Crashers" director David Dobkin is both writing and directing the project.

[b]Gary Oldman And Helena Bonham-Carter Head To Neo Tokyo[/b]
Only a week after Warner Bros announced they were greenlighting their "Akira" remake and that it will likely star Garrett Hedlund, [url="http://twitchfilm.com/news/2011/10/breaking-gary-oldman-and-helena-bonham-carter-offered-akira.php"]Twitch[/url] has learned some interesting casting rumors. Apparently [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/47550/personmain.jhtml"]Gary Oldman[/url] and [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/6475/personmain.jhtml"]Helena Bonham Carter[/url] are up for some major secondary roles in the project. He has been offered the role of The Colonel, while she could play one of The Espers, Lady Miyako. No word yet on whether they'll accept WB's offer. The last time the two actors worked together was on "Harry Potter," another WB project.

[b]Eric Bana And Danny Huston Are The King And Tricky Dick[/b]
[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/19180/personmain.jhtml"]Cary Elwes[/url] is hiring some high profile talent for his directorial debut. [url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118044904/"][i]Variety[/i][/url] is reporting that "The Princess Bride" star has tapped [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/190070/personmain.jhtml"]Eric Bana[/url] and [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/84122/personmain.jhtml"]Danny Huston[/url] to play Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon in the appropriately titled flick, "Elvis & Nixon." Elwes also wrote the script, which is based around the real-life event when Elvis visited the White House to suggest that he become a "Federal Agent-At-Large" in the war on drugs in the 1970s. Production doesn't have a start date yet, but the film will be shot in Los Angeles and Shreveport, Louisiana.

[b]Kim Kardashian Joins Tyler Perry's Next Film[/b]
[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/493757/personmain.jhtml"]Kim Kardashian[/url] is making her way from reality star to movie star. [url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/kim-kardashian-to-co-star-in-tyler-perrys-the-marriage-counselor/"]Deadline[/url] reports that she will play a secondary role in Tyler Perry's next project, "The Marriage Counselor." Jurnee Smollett plays the titular marriage counselor who ends up cheating on her husband with a client and realized she's made a big mistake. Kardashian will play her coworker, a character named Eva, who gives her "a big city makeover and new confidence."

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
