Bradley Cooper Becomes 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'

[url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118044813?categoryid=13&cs=1"][i]Variety[/i][/url] is reporting that "The Hangover" star is circling the reboot of the 60s TV and film spy franchise. He'd play Napoleon Solo, a member of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.) during the Cold War. Cooper would team up with director Steven Soderbergh for the gig.

[b]Catherine Zeta-Jones Heads To The "Broken City"[/b]
[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/31879/personmain.jhtml"]Catherine Zeta-Jones[/url] is making Allen Hughes's "Broken City" into her triumphant return to the big screen. [url="http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/10/20/catherine-zeta-jones-mark-wahlberg-russell-crowe-broken-city/"]EW.com[/url] confirmed that she'll play the wife of the mayor of New York (Russell Crowe) who ends up cheating on him. Mark Wahlberg also stars in the flick. It's set to start shooting in November.

[b]Carey Mulligan Goes "Inside Llewyn Davis"[/b]
[url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118044810?categoryid=4154&cs=1"][i]Variety[/i][/url] is reporting that [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/369555/personmain.jhtml"]Carey Mulligan[/url] will reteam with her "Drive" costar Oscar Isaac in the upcoming film "Inside Llewyn Davis." It is the latest film from directors Joel and Ethan Coen, and is based on the life of 60s folk musician Dave van Ronk. Mulligan will play the female lead in the film, though her role is unknown.

[b]Mickey Rourke Out Of "The Expendables 2"[/b]
There are going to be many familiar faces in "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/475178/moviemain.jhtml"]The Expendables 2[/url]," but there is one that is definitely not returning from the first film. [url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/no-expendables-sequel-for-mickey-rourke-hes-in-talks-for-martin-mcdonaghs-seven-psychopaths/"]Deadline[/url] is reporting that [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/54512/personmain.jhtml"]Mickey Rourke[/url] is out of the movie, despite reports that he was supposed to have a small role. Rourke appeared in the first movie as the character "Tool." Allegedly the plot of the second film revolves around Tool's wife and daughter.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
