Sean Bean is ready to head back to the set of "Game of Thrones," with or without his head.

His character Ned Stark got a rather tragic send-off in last season's penultimate episode, "Baelor." But thanks to author George R.R. Martin's non-linear storytelling, there might be some room for Bean to appear on the show in flashbacks during the upcoming season. MTV News caught up with him on the red carpet for the Spike Scream Awards, and he admitted that he wouldn't be averse to the idea.

"I think there is in the books," said Bean of the possibility of flashbacks. "There are apparently some flashbacks, and it would be great to see everybody again and be involved."

Bean shared that he is only now reading "A Clash of Kings," the second book in Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, and thus doesn't know how Ned fits into the rest of the saga's story. (Spoiler: There are some pretty important Ned flashbacks all the way up through the most recent novel, "A Dance with Dragons.") But even without knowing whether Ned remains relevant in Westeros or not, Bean thinks there's a chance he could be headed back to set.

"They sort of got rid of me. I had my head chopped off. But if you can come back from that, you can come back from everything, can't you," Bean joked.

Maybe he and Jason Momoa can have a tea party to plot their triumphant returns to "Game of Thrones."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
