Matt Reeves Directing 'Twilight Zone' Remake

Warner Bros. has certainly let the right one in by hiring the "Cloverfield" and "Let Me In" filmmaker to direct a new big-screen adaptation of the classic Rod Sterling television series.

[url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/exclusive-matt-reeves-is-warner-bros-pick-for-twilight-zone-movie/"]Deadline[/url] has the news, reporting on the Jason Rothenberg-penned film: "Though the last Twilight Zone film  was an anthology with different directors, this one is a big science fiction action movie with a single freestanding story that is linked to the original series mainly in that it shares that familiarly eerie feel."

Personally, I'm thrilled with the selection of Reeves, but I do wish WB had gone the anthology route and hired multiple directors to oversee different "Twilight Zone" vignettes. That recently leaked wish list of filmmakers — including Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay and Alfonso Cuaron — would have made for one heck of a dynamic moviegoing experience.
