[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/13830/personmain.jhtml"]Daniel Craig[/url] seems to be putting the emotional core of "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/456914/moviemain.jhtml"]The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo[/url]" a bit lightly in the excerpt from this month's [url="http://empiremagazine.com/"]Empire[/url] magazine cover story, but that relationship is exactly what the sexy photos released from the issue are highlighting.

From Craig's Blomkvist handcuffed to a chair, to [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/1068429/personmain.jhtml"]Rooney Mara[/url]'s Salander blowing cigarette smoke into his mouth, the newest images from the film are showing off director David Fincher's knack for sexy, sexy filmmaking. As if you had any doubts, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is looking much closer to Fincher's work on "Fight Club" than on last year's "The Social Network."

[b]J.J. Abrams And Billy Ray Create New Movie[/b]
J.J. Abrams is adding a new project to his laundry list of commitments. According to [url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/billy-ray-jj-abrams-team-for-paramount-mysteryproject/"]Deadline[/url], Abrams is teaming up with screenwriter Billy Ray to create a movie that is a mystery adventure. Any more information about the project is as much a mystery to us as it is to you.

[b]"Dark Knight Rises" And "Harry Potter" Directors Circling "The Twilight Zone"[/b]
Warner Bros. wants to remake "The Twilight Zone," and has its eyes set on some pretty high-end directors. According to [url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118043715"][i]Variety[/i][/url], WB is circling around [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/205647/personmain.jhtml"]Christopher Nolan[/url], [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/171297/personmain.jhtml"]Michael Bay[/url] and Alfonso Cuaron to direct the new "Twilight Zone" film. Both Nolan and Cuaron have long-running relationships with the studio, while this would be Bay's first time working with them.

[b]"Mortal Kombat" Viral Videos Lead To New Movie[/b]
"Fame" director Kevin Tancharoen might have gotten a little bit more than he bargained for when he created the short "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" to convince execs at Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema that he was the right man to reboot the "Mortal Kombat" film franchise. Now with the wide success of "Rebirth" under his belt and a successful nine-episode web series, "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," New Line has agreed to let Tancharoen direct a new "Mortal Kombat" movie slated for 2013. [url="http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2011/09/30/glee-director-prepares-for-mortal-kombat-film/"]Hero Complex[/url] has a great interview with the director for the uninitiated.

[b]James Franco Almost Died In "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes"[/b]
The ending of "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/455152/moviemain.jhtml"]Rise of the Planet of the Apes[/url]" almost had a very different, much sadder ending. Fox’s president of postproduction, Ted Gagliano, said Saturday at the Visual Effects Society Production Summit. Turns out that originally [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/264077/personmain.jhtml"]James Franco[/url]'s character died at the end of the film. Eventually they changed that decision, and brought Franco and Andy Serkis back for reshoots to change it to the (arguably) more uplifting ending.
