'Breaking Dawn' Trailer Commentary: Everything You Need To Know

We're just two months away from "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/454504/moviemain.jhtml"]Breaking Dawn Part 1[/url]," so the wait for further "Twilight" goodness isn't too long. But for fans of the supernatural romance saga, it's an excruciating wait, especially given the latest tease-filled [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/09/14/breaking-dawn-trailer/"]"Breaking Dawn" trailer[/url] that premiered this week.

In fairness, though, director Bill Condon gave fans exactly what they wanted: weddings, honeymoons, plenty of action and a whole lot of danger for poor Bella Swan. It was an epic trailer with a whole lot to unpack, so to keep you guys filled in on everything you need to know about the new "Twilight" flick, MTV News' Jocelyn Vena and I sat down and dissected the latest "Breaking Dawn" trailer.

For my part, the big takeaway is this: this trailer is all about acceptance. Those who initially opposed Bella's decision to pursue a life with Edward Cullen — from her very own father to Edward's number one rival, Jacob — seem to be whistling a different tune in this trailer, even if it's a melancholy one.

But it's not just Bella's love life that needs acceptance, not with the very fate of her and her unborn child's life hanging in the balance. Friends become enemies and enemies become friends as people accept the reality of Bella's situation: our hero is in danger, and one way or another, something must be done.

Above all, the theme of acceptance carries over to the "Twilight" fandom. We're still more than a year away from the franchise's final movie, but in the grand scheme of things, the end of "Twilight" isn't such a far off reality. Yes, this latest trailer is chock full of goodness for fans of the series — but it's also a sign of things coming to a close. Whether or not you're ready to accept that reality… well, your mileage may vary.
