'Lone Ranger': Disney Wants Johnny Depp, He Wants Gore Verbinski

[url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/09/disney-dilemma-johnny-depp-wont-make-lone-ranger-without-gore-verbinski-bruckheimer-bring-lower-budget-to-studio/"]Deadline[/url] reports that Disney must accept the $215 million-ish budget that director [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/200398/personmain.jhtml"]Gore Verbinski[/url] and producer Jerry Bruckheimer are presenting, or move forward without Verbinski... and, by extension, without [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/16504/personmain.jhtml"]Johnny Depp[/url], who reportedly won't shoot the film without Verbinski behind the camera. Disney originally [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/08/15/johnny-depp-lone-ranger/"]pulled the plug[/url] on "The Lone Ranger" because the budget got a bit too out of control, though last we heard [url="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2011/08/18/the-lone-ranger-the-dark-tower/"]they were negotiating[/url]. [b]Amy Adams To Run "The Orphanage"?[/b]
File this under rumors we'd love to see happen. <a href="http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/26100" target="_blank">Bloody Disgusting has learned that New Line is in talks with [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/238473/personmain.jhtml"]Amy Adams[/url] to play the lead role of Laura in their remake of "The Orphanage." "The Mothman Prophecies" director Mark Pellington is set to helm the project. BD is saying that even though talks have taken place, Adams is not signed to star jut yet.

[b]Two More For "The Great Gatsby"[/b]
Baz Luhrmann is busy filming "[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/movie/60135/moviemain.jhtml"]The Great Gatsby[/url]" in Sydney, but that doesn't mean it's too late to add some new cast members. [url="http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/08/30/gemma-ward-great-gatsby/"]EW[/url] has learned that Gemma Ward has been cast in an undisclosed role, and [url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118042023?refCatId=13"][i]Variety[/i][/url] is reporting that Callan McAuliffe will be playing a young Jay Gatsby. They'll be joining Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway, Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, Isla Fischer as Myrtle Wilson and Joel Edgerton as Tom Buchanan.

[b]Harry Lloyd Headed "Closer To The Moon"[/b]
[url="http://www.deadline.com/2011/08/game-of-thrones-harry-lloyd-lands-lead-in-closer-to-the-moon/"]Deadline[/url] is reporting that "Game of Thrones" actor Harry Lloyd has been cast as the lead in "Closer to the Moon." He will play a cameraman forced to shoot a propaganda film in 1959 Bucharest, and ends up falling in love with a woman (Vera Farmiga) who has a child with one of the men sentenced to die (Mark Strong). It is set to start filming in the fall in Bucharest under director Nae Caranfil.

[b]Rachel Boston Joins "It's A Disaster"[/b]
[url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/rachel-boston-joins-indie-comedy-229921"][i]The Hollywood Reporter[/i][/url] has learned that "In Plain Sight" actress [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/454637/personmain.jhtml"]Rachel Boston [/url]will be starring in the indie "It's A Disaster." She'll play a "whip-smart wildcard" named Lexi Kivel. The movie, written and directed by Todd Berger, follows four couples who meet for Sunday brunch, only to find the world about to end. "It's A Disaster" also stars Julia Stiles and America Ferrera.

[b]John Boyega Is "Da Brick"[/b]
[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/87648/personmain.jhtml"]Spike Lee[/url] has acquired quite the cast for his upcoming HBO project "Da Brick." [url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/spike-lees-boxing-drama-da-229859"][i]The Hollywood Reporter[/i][/url] has learned that "Attack the Block" star [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/1143204/personmain.jhtml"]John Boyega[/url] will play the boxing drama's titular lead, first name Donnie. "NCIS" lead Miluana Jemai will play his mother, "The Wire" star Julito McCullum will play Donnie's best friend Kevin, and "Gossip Girl'" Kamahl Naiqui Palmer will play Malik, the moral center of Donnie's group of friends.
