With a reputation that’s quietly built over the past year, Supergroove at Brixton’s Babalou has been keeping London’s party vibe alive with its non-agro, summer-all-year music policy and the latest DJ choices for their Friday 25 July party are no exception.

Janette Slack, London’s Mistress of energised Electro House and Dr Fish, the South West’s prescription of Funkin’ Breaks, Hip Hop and Dubstep will be joining hands and sharing turntables to create the full-on dance vibe that is always Supergroove’s intention. With both headliners being as hot as they’re cool the temperature rises to max when we reveal they’re both winners on consecutive years of the UK’s prestigious D-Joust DJ Competition!

Janette Slack, resident for the no-holds-barred Torture Garden and Air at Cargo and with future and previous gigs ranging from Global Gathering, Hi Fi and Electric Garden Festivals, Fabric, Party Proactive at Turnmills and Ministry of Sound she’s worked the musical globe from France and Spain to her native Hong Kong, Russia, Australia and back. This is one on fire lady with her music productions keeping her as busy as her tour schedule!

With Dr Fish’s horizontal approach to life oozing through his music you can almost drink in the sun through your ears. Hailing from south coast the past year has seen his profile shimmy into the discerning clubbers consciousness, playing alongside artists including Far Too Loud, Slyde, Vandal, Eric Morrillo, Chicken Lips, the Loose Cannonsand, would you believe it, Janette Slack. Not only that, he’s also got his own bi-monthly show on the Breakspoll Brap.fm. Pass the Mackerel!

And so, with our feet on the dancefloor and cocktail in hand, July’s Supergroove Summer Season looks well and truly open!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
