Italian DJ/Producer Marco Demark’s electro-house style is spreading through the international dance scene on the back of his debut single, “Tiny Dancer”. Having spent time in the studio producing new material throughout the first half of ‘07, Marco came up with a remake of one of Elton John’s most famous songs, and it’s proved to be a winner on the dance floor as well as on radio. This classic track has been given a new lease of life by Marco Demark featuring vocalist Casey Barnes.

With label interest rising for the track, an association with UK DJ/Producer Carl Kennedy led to Marco signing “Tiny Dancer” to Carl’s own label, Wasted Youth Music. The promo of “Tiny Dancer” hit Ibiza and the European clubs around mid summer, more importantly it also hit the play list of Pete Tong’s “Essential Mix” radio show in the UK and became an “Essential New Tune”. With the new year arriving, Tong continued to back the track with further airplay.

“Tiny Dancer” has now been licensed around the world and is gathering momentum with remixes by The Camel Rider, Deadmau5, John Dahlback, Moto Blanco, Craig Obey & RobKay and Andy F. It has also been added to the daytime play lists of the biggest and most influential radio stations in the UK; Radio 1, Kiss FM and Galaxy. This radio play with dance floor support from some of the biggest international DJs; Eric Morillo, Paul Van Dyke, Armin Van Buuren and naturally Pete Tong and Carl Kennedy, have set up “Tiny Dancer” to cross-over to commercial hit status and potentially be one of the biggest tracks of 2008.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
