With 80% of the precincts reporting, The New York Times says that "Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton won the New Hampshire Democratic primary in a surprising show of strength after losing the Iowa caucuses to Senator Barack Obama last week. John Edward's concession speech

We clearly have different ideas of what constitutes a concession speech.

I can't help but notice that Mitt Romney placed well again. Better than in Iowa.

In Primaries the concession speech is actually just an opportunity to get your talking points broadcast on national TV. The candidate is always pleased with where he or she finished, at least on camera, and the future always looks rosy for their campaign. Last night Barack Obama was dynamic in his speech, Hillary pretty good, as was Edwards. John McCain, on the other hand, was dismal and came off looking every bit of his considerable age. And Mitt Romney, as always, was totally plastic.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
