The past two years for Shallou have seen a variety of successes including hit EP “The Long Way Home,” led by a 2021 debut with “Heartaches,” which saw support from key tastemakers like Sirius XM Chill and Radio One. After exploding into the festival circuit in 2022 with his solo-hybrid performance, he’s released remixes for Lexi Jayde’s viral hit “drunk text me,” “Saint” by Kygo signee Forester, the US Alternative Radio charting hit “Clarity” by Vance Joy and a number of collaborations with ayokay, Sultan + Shepard released via This Never Happened, and Singapore-based MYRNE on Astralwerks.

His talent knows no bounds, and he’s kicking off 2023 strong with not one, but two singles – “See You” & “Feel So Lonely“. “See You” is backed by fluttering percussion accompanied by glistening synths and angelic-type vocals. The song then explodes into a full blown masterpiece of dance music, with waves of catchy pitched vocals and a thumping bassline. It’s unexpected yet fits perfectly.

Feel So Lonely” maintains the energy of the first single, loaded with synth stabs that spray all around your ears, while the well-placed vocal chops serve as another instrument entirely, providing a structure that creates an intoxicating rhythm.  But even within the intensity of the music, there’s somehow still a mellow and soothing energy that persists, and that’s classic Shallou.

Shallou continues to amaze us with how far his creativity can go – it’s hard not to be inspired by him. Check out the singles below!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
