The Wemax Go Smallest ALPD Laser Projector projecting on a wall.

TL;DR: As of August 15, you can get the Wemax Go Smallest ALPD Laser Projector for just $429.99 instead of $599.98 — that's a 28% discount.

Movie night might get a bit more exciting when you could have it almost anywhere. The Wemax Go Smallest ALPD Laser Projector is likely barely bigger than your smartphone, but it can be used to project a screen up to 100 inches wide. If you want to carry the theater experience in your back pocket, the Wemax Go is on sale for $429.99, marked down from $599.

A small projector for the big screen

Successfully funded on Indiegogo, The WeMax Go comes with a Cinema-grade ALPD® Laser and a brightness of 300 ANSI Lumens and a 25,000-hour laser life. Connect through WiFi or HDMI to start projecting movies, shows, or even games onto the big screen (or your favorite large, white wall). With the HDMI connectivity, you could connect most gaming consoles directly to your projector for a big-screen gaming experience.

Sound is important when you’re setting up a movie night. This little projector does have one small speaker built in, but it also has a headphone jack which you could plug a speaker into for a more immersive setup. The Wemax Go does not have a built-in battery, but all it takes to power it is a USB-C cable and a power source, but that’s no problem! If you’re camping, pull out your portable charger or plug your projector into a generator.

There may even be benefits to using your projector instead of a traditional screen. Instead of shining directly into your eyes, projectors reflect light from a screen back to you.

Save on a portable projector you could fit in a pocket

You might only need one piece of equipment to make movie night feel like a theater experience. Get the Wemax Go Smallest ALPD Laser Projector on sale for $429.99 (Reg. $599).

Prices subject to change.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
