Hey guys, just wanted to tell you about my new band One Week Today. We've recorded the music for a demo and will be adding the vocals soon. We've also got a video of our acoustic cover of Jet's 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' Add us as a friend on MySpace. Cheers, Rich

I'm getting an error, which says it is being reported to the technical group. But I will check it out as soon as its up again - it's working now... The production is a bit rough, and the band takes a little while to get going, but the song definitely improves as you go on. How long did it take to put together?

Yeah we literally recorded it with a mic and my mates itunes garageband thing. I wrote the music for the song (except the drums) and have written lyrics to it as well. The song took about 2 days to get the guitar right and a day for the bass. I worked on the song for a few hours, and then went back to it a few times to re-do bits I didn't like. We hope to record it properly soon though.

You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
