risik stuns once again with their debut STILL BORING EP, out now via Wormhole Music Group.

For those unfamiliar with risik’s bold style of experimental rave creations, STILL BORING may strike as unexpected chord. In actuality, the EP follows in the footsteps of risik’s debut single “BORING,” thriving in unpredictability and oozing with originality, paying no mind to rules or norms or genre — because that would be boring.

As the EP’s PR declares, STILL BORING “explores themes ranging from surviving abuse and manipulation, to raving in a dystopian future rife with cybernetic sanguivores, all through a unique lens of heavy bass, harsh noise, and campy horror.”

“MACHINE” serves as an instinctual, acidy intro, before creeping into the familiar sounds of “BORING” (read more at the link above). Then, the dizzying bass heard in “BR00TAL,” risik’s collab with Thromb, takes hold before effortlessly moving into the peculiar beat of “DESIRE,” a slow, steady dance burner. “GUCCI” slaps with heavy intensity and growls, and rounding out the risik-defining originals, “KREEP” closes with beautiful, deadly force. Lastly, i broke my robot makes an appearance with a deconstructed remix of “BORING.”

feeling a lot of rly intense emotions right now. I’ve never worked on something for so long before sharing it. It has been a long 4 years of learning how to write music and finishing these songs. I’m starting to finally find the words to use to describe this album but I will shut up for now and give you a chance to listen for yourselves…
