James Corden's staff debate over how to write dates in America vs UK gets hilariously heated

James Corden argues with his

Month, then day, then year? Or day, then year, then month?

That's the debate that takes up a full five minutes of James Corden's Late Late Show monologue in the video above, with the host (who is of course British, and write dates with the day first) taking on the rest of his U.S. staff.

"Today, February 22nd," says the host in the clip above, which went out on Tuesday. "02/22/22. That's what it is. Or, as it's correctly called on the rest of planet earth, 22/02/22."

What follows is a lengthy debate about the proper way to say and write dates, with some people holding firm, others being swayed, and passions running high.

"It's taken a very ugly turn," concludes lead writer Ian Karmel, "and it's a very ugly side of you."

For the record, though, putting the day first does make the most sense.

      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020."
