Actor Sizemore arrested again for drug possession

Actor Tom Sizemore, currently on probation for a prior drug conviction, has been arrested outside a California hotel for suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, a police official said.

Sizemore, 45, was taken into custody in Bakersfield, a city north of Los Angeles, when drugs were found in his car after a man believed to be his associate got into a dispute with a hotel clerk, said Bakersfield police Detective Greg Terry.

"He (Sizemore) appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance," Terry said.

"(The officers) learned he was on probation and during a subsequent search, they found two small bags of what appears to be methamphetamine and some additional narcotic smoking pipes," Terry added.

Sizemore, who is best known for tough-guy roles in movies such as Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, was arrested in 2004 for possessing methamphetamine, a stimulant, and subsequently put on probation.

Although he has gone through drug rehabilitation, Sizemore has been back in court for violating probation and ordered to undergo additional counselling. In one instance, he tried to fake results of a court-ordered drug test using a prosthetic penis to give a urine sample.

After Tuesday's arrest, which Terry said occurred at around 7.30am local time, the actor was booked into a jail in Kern County, where Bakersfield is located. An official at the jail said the actor was still incarcerated as of Tuesday afternoon.

If found to have violated parole and possessed illegal drugs, Sizemore could face a prison sentence.

The actor's spokeswoman was not immediately available to comment.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
