Irreversible Entanglements – “Open The Gates”

Irreversible Entanglements, the exploratory jazz collective fronted by Camae Ayewa (aka Moor Mother), are about to follow up last year’s transcendent sophomore set Who Sent You? The new album is called Open The Gates, and its title track is out today ahead of the full project’s release in November. It will once again be a co-release between jazz hub International Anthem and indie rock staple Don Giovanni.

Wow, just look at these gates! I love such creative solutions. This clearly adds a few points to the coolness of the homeowner! I recently moved to a new house and plan to do something similar for my gate. They are much wider than shown on the album cover. I really like such geometric solutions on the gates. I have already found those guys who will be able to install such automatic gates(that's who I'm talking about: https://everlastgates.com/austin-texas-automatic-gate-repair-installation/), I just need to find a professional who can do something like this with an iron gate. I don't want it to just be laser-cut on an aluminum sheet.

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
