Sometimes we just need to know everything’s gonna “BE OK” — and the brand new, star-studded collab from Ookay, Flux Pavilion and Elohim embraces that sentiment in the best possible way.

“BE OK” is an instant mood-booster, showcasing the respective skillsets of each artist fused into a single, cohesive collaboration. This optimistic blend of bass and pop is led by Elohim’s vocal prowess, backed by happy, carefree synths and melodies that fuel the production.

Ookay shares exactly how the collaboration came together:

This song has gone on quite a journey. Flux Pavilion stopped by my place in Los Angeles back in 2019 and we just bonded and worked on some ideas while playing around with midi, guitars and talked about life on my roof. Fast forward a year and a half later and after about 10 different versions of the song, I sent it to the amazingly talented Elohim who sent back some awesome vocals then we started writing back and forth. The song is about just wanting to be ok, which is a feeling most people can relate to. In your darkest moments, you want to find your way towards a more positive reality and this song is a yearning for that.

Elohim adds:

It is difficult to feel ok while navigating this vast world. Being surrounded by friends and community is something that helps me get through challenging times. The experience of making this song with Ookay and Flux was exactly that and I hope the feeling of listening to the song will do the same for others

“BE OK” serves as the fourth single off Ookay’s forthcoming sophomore album, following up solo originals “Deep With Me,” “Weekends” and “Not Again.”

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
