MARIAH CAREY Battles PORN STAR Over NAME

Recommended Posts

Having apparently come to the conclusion that something could damage her movie career more seriously than 'Glitter,' Mariah Carey has taken aim at the similarly-minded -- not to mention similarly endowed -- adult entertainment fixture Mary Carey.

The latter "actress," who's known as much for running against Arnold Schwarzenegger for California's governorship as for her roles in such classic flicks as 'Lesbian Big Boob Bangeroo 2,' has filed papers in an effort to trademark her nom de film. Mimi and her lawyers have taken umbrage over that attempt, however, and have threatened to sue the artist formerly known as Mary Ellen Cook, saying that "confusion between your client and her Mary Carey trademark and our client and its [sic] Mariah Carey trademark is likely."

To ensure such a mix-up doesn't occur, Mariah's folks have further demanded that the top-heavy thespian refrain from venturing into the musical arena and concentrate her efforts entirely on the celluloid universe. Much to the dismay of trench-coated movie lovers everywhere, the spat makes the notion of a collaboration -- or even a pillow-fight video -- seem pretty unlikely.

Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
