Tchami drops a hopeful house anthem made to inspire with “Faith” featuring Marlena Shaw.

“Faith” is built around Shaw’s iconic, soul-driven gospel vocals as “Faith” samples her classic 1969 release, “Woman of The Ghetto,” emphasized an expertly crafted production from Tchami that champions the roots of house music. The song is a reminder to keep “Faith” in times of struggle and hardships, things of which 2020 knows very well.

With this, the critically-acclaimed producer/ DJ unveils his latest single — which follows up double-single releases “Born Again” / “Buenos Aires” and “Proud” / “Ghosts” — as part of his forthcoming LP, Year Zero, due out later this year.

Tchami takes us on a journey to an emerging city through the lens of an outsider. Let the anthem ring out to the striking visuals below and scroll down for the lyrics.

Tchami – Faith ft. Marlena Shaw

Lyrics

I was born and raised in a ghetto
I was born and raised in a ghetto
I’m a woman of the ghetto
Listen to me, legislator
How do you raise your kids in a ghetto
How do you raise your kids in a ghetto
Feed one child and starve another
Tell me, tell me, legislator

How do make your bread in the ghetto?
How do make your bread in the ghetto?
Baked from the souls in the ghetto
Tell me, tell me, Legislator?

I was born and raised in a ghetto
I was born and raised in a ghetto
I’m a woman of the ghetto
Listen to me, legislator
How do you raise your kids in a ghetto
How do you raise your kids in a ghetto
Feed one child and starve another
Tell me, tell me, legislator

How do make your bread in the ghetto?
How do make your bread in the ghetto?
Baked from the souls in the ghetto
Tell me, tell me, Legislator?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
