Colorado-based duo Big Gigantic are revisiting their massive 2020 album with a ‘Free Your Mind‘ remix EP that is spectacular, from start to finish. Since the release of ‘Free Your Mind‘ in early 2020, Big Gigantic have spent the better part of the year hitting new milestones over a decade into their career. Their live performance of “Friends” with Ashe at Red Rocks was NPR Music Live Sessions’ “Song of the Day” while the song continued to spread to legendary stations like KCRW (Los Angeles) and KROX (Austin). The coming months also saw them deliver a mix on BBC Radio 1 for Diplo and Friends while receiving extensive editorial support across Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.

Big Gigantic recently teased with a “You’re The One (ft. Nevve)” flip from French standout CloZee, that carries this stadium-anthem type of feel. The EP also features remixes from Opiuo, Party Pupils, Nikademis, AHEE, Daniel Allan, Kotek, and Samurai Del. Each offers perfect justice to the original, while incorporating their own unique sounds.

Some stand-outs include Party People’s remix to “Friends“, carrying a bright piano-house vibe. Daniel Allan provides an infectious remix that you can’t help but want to listen to over and over again with tropical future bass elements. If you needed your bass music fix, turn on the Nikademis remix to “Where I Wanna Be“, or AHEE’s remix to “Burning Love”; both are sure to get your blood pumping.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
