Carnage and Sonny Fodera drop the most unexpected remix of the weekend with their take on “Chicago Freestyle” by Drake.

The 2020-released cut off the rapper’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes translates surprisingly well to a late night soundscape and we’re into it. Deep house energy holds down the track, which features sultry vocals from Giveon‘s “Chicago Freestyle” chorus. It’s not until the very end that Drake’s own vocals are worked in, as he pays homage to Eminem‘s “Superman,” changing the lyrics up slightly.

We’ve seen Drake’s friendship with Carnage play out hilariously on social media (see here and here). Now, we have music out of the deal, which is much more rewarding.

Listen here and let us know what you think!

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
