Just released in time for the weekend is the next single from Finnish producer Perttu. Dropping after the success of his ‘Damage Control’ at the end of last year, ‘Home’ is a powerfully evocative record, with strong vocal hooks throughout.

Inspired by feeling homesick for his hometown of Helsinki, Perttu explains: “Home, has a different meaning for us all. For some it can be a specific place, perhaps somebody important, or maybe even a state of mind. But whatever it might be, we all share that same feeling of when from time to time we just wished we were there. For this song, I wanted to collect different elements that are nostalgic to me. I’ve been playing in bands for my whole life, so I wanted to have that “band feeling” in this song. When I composed the song I thought it would be cool to have all the instruments recorded as if it was performed by a real band.”

An uplifting chorus and a retro feel with its 80s style progressions, ‘Home’ is exactly what we need to round off our week. Stream it here.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
