Spag Heddy has always been one of bass music’s most well-kept secrets. Though you won’t always see his name at the top of lineups, you can be certain that you can hear his music in the headliner’s sets, and he is always consistently releasing absolute fire. Now, ahead of his Armageddy EP out tomorrow on Never Say Die, Your EDM has the premiere of our favorite song on the project, “BASS GOES BOOM.”

“BASS GOES BOOM” is a classic NSD sound — and I’m talking like 2012-2013 when 501 and Mobscene were still pulling numbers on the label. It has that Zomboy-esque, comedic tone to the synths and vox that made some of the label’s biggest tracks so popular, all while keeping the melodic structure intact. Best of all, even while paying homage to these elements — whether intentional on Spag’s part of not — the song still sounds current and beastly.

When we had the option of what track to premiere from the EP, once we heard “BASS GOES BOOM,” it was really a no-brainer. Check it out below and get ready for the full EP drop tomorrow!

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
