The Red Hot Chili Peppers officially have their iconic guitarist John Frusciante back in the band.

Just hours ago, the group made an official announcement via Flea‘s Instagram account. They are “parting ways” with their guitarist of the past ten years, Josh Klinghoffer — who was Frusciante’s replacement when he left in 2009.

The band welcomes Frusciante’s return “with great excitement, and full hearts.” After all these years, it seems they are happy to be together again in proper form.

In the statement below, Flea also expresses great gratitude for Klinghoffer’s decade-long run — for the “countless gifts he shared with us.”

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
