Tracks from the upcoming Program 100 Sampler are beginning to leak from the label to tease the first part of the release, out this Friday, October 25. The first part of the sampler will feature lots of remixes and VIPs and new exclusive tracks whose numbers are two big to name. Your EDM has the exclusive premiere of Calyx & Teebee’s fiery remix of “House of Cards” by Legion & Logam.

The original “House of Cards” featuring Adam Wright is a steppy, melodic and dreamy track with Legion & Logam’s characteristic flare for balancing the emotive and the danceable. There is a bit of a dark ambient current running through the track, however, so when Calyx & Teebee got a hold of the stems it seems they took that bit and ran with it, adding some glitchy synths and changing up the snare sequence.

The cool thing with the new remix is that despite the dark/techy feel being ramped up, or perhaps because of it, the soulful vocals by Adam Wright are actually highlighted and mix in with the track in a totally different way. The Calyx & Teebee remix is both deeper and more minimal, techier and still soulful as compared to the original, showcasing both their own mastery of the remix and Legion & Logam’s stellar stems.

The first part of the Program 100 Sampler will be out on Friday, 10/25 and will feature tracks from the likes of Glitch City & Nightshift, Eazy & Fascad. Keep an eye on the Program Beatport and Spotify to stream and purchase.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
