For Diplo, switching up genres is as easy as changing lanes. With his new Higher Ground EP, it’s all about house music.

About a month ago, the producer hit us with two ridiculously smooth, house-driven productions, “Hold You Tight” and “Bubble Up,” co-produced by Nitti Gritti. Now, he’s back with a couple more collabs, “Give Dem” with Blond:ish featuring Kah-Lo and “Win Win” featuring Tove Lo.

“Give Dem” is a perky party track, led by Kah-Lo’s lyrics with heavy emphasis on the vibe. It’s easy and infectious, with subtle builds that lead straight back into a danceable loop that could go on forever (we wouldn’t mind). “Win Win” goes deep, with low rumbles and echoing vocals. It’s impossible to not surrender to Tove Lo’s familiar voice as Diplo shows off his impeccable, technical side.

As with any Diplo release, rhythm conquers all. Listen here and enjoy!

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
