Samsung has yet another Galaxy device coming Oct. 11

The Galaxy Note 9 just launched last month, but another Samsung device may already be on the horizon.

Samsung today sent out invites for "A Galaxy Event" taking place on Oct 11. Yep, that means there is yet another Galaxy device arriving relatively soon. And as tech invitations tend to do, this one hints that the new Galaxy device will have "4X fun." Let the guessing games begin about what that means!

The invite interestingly does not include a location or time. Instead, it says that Samsung will be streaming the event live

Since the Galaxy Note 9 only recently launched, it's hard to imagine what this next device could be. One theory is that it could be Samsung's long-rumored foldable phone. Samsung also says in its official press release that the new Galaxy device "is bringing more ways to express yourself than ever before." This leads us to believe that the announcement could have something to do with cameras — either in its phones or its burgeoning mirrorless camera line. Read more...

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
